Welcome to Collinwood! If you haven’t heard yet, we have been spending the past decade making our neighborhood one of the strongest artist communities in the country. Street after street, musicians, photographers, writers and other artists are transforming our neighborhood into something great. With a great quality of life, a growing contemporary art scene and incredibly low cost-of-living, we are the perfect place for creative people to put down roots.

Collinwood’s Waterloo Arts and Entertainment District is a regional destination, bringing in tons of visitors to the neighborhood. The district is home to an eclectic mix of indie music venues and art galleries, the perfect place for artists young and old to launch their career or expand their practice. All of this sits just blocks away from miles of lakefront parks and streets lined with trees and large-historic houses. And with houses available to artists for as little as $6,500, and a ton of grants, loans and other resources we offer to help make creative people’s dreams come true … Why wouldn’t you be here?!

Read on to find out how we can help you join our vibrant community! And check out our currently available artist homeownership opportunities below!
